There’s no need to pay a premium for radiant barrier roof sheathing when you can easily create your own at a much lower cost. Just unroll our Silverback radiant barrier over standard OSB or plywood and staple it in place. The 48″ wide material is sized for a perfect fit and streamlined installation.
Advantages over pre-laminated decking:

- More durable (Our product is much stronger then the thin layer of aluminum that comes on the pre-laminated sheeting.)
- Reduced moisture concerns (when the foil is laminated to the decking, the adhesives plug up the perforations reducing the ability of those products to pass moisture.)
Installing Radiant barrier across the top of the slats.
Throughout the day, roofing materials are frequently exposed to sunlight, which can elevate the temperature of roofing nails. This heat transfer can subsequently affect the attic space. To mitigate this issue, it is highly recommended that contractors install Silverback Radiant Barrier with a 2 inch droop between the slats or that they install Silverback Radiant Barrier above the slats instead of directly on the decking. This approach enables roofing nails to penetrate the decking while preserving the integrity of the material, ultimately enhancing the energy efficiency of the home.
